About Dr. McMurphy

Dr. J. Steadman McMurphy, Jr. was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2001 with a B.S. degree in Business Management, and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2005.

His specialty training in Orthodontics was completed at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2007. He is also a graduate of the Roth / Williams Advanced Education in Orthodontics Institute, the Lawrence F. Andrews Foundation Six Elements Philosophy Course, and the Tweed Study Course.

Dr. McMurphy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Alabama Dental Association.
